drowning drawings

These two drawings are still works in progress but close to completion. They are a full sheet of printmaking paper torn in half, whatever size that is.... one drawing is in pencil, the other is in ink.

The ink drawing with the bunnies, I am considering putting some larger bunnies with the group of falling bunnies, what do you think? I am also toying with the idea of adding some plant life in the water. I may do a drawing of plant life then lay it on top and see how it looks. maybe I could do one on tracing paper and then lay it over the drawing as another layer. I just ordered some paper duralar I think it is called. It is the paper that those doiley drawings were done on in that previous post about the collaboration. It is sort of like drafting paper. I think it will be interesting to work with.

Give me some feedback if you have any. thanks babe!

Book By Its Cover is a blog created by New York illustrator and pattern designer Julia Rothman to share some of her favorite books.
One of the coolest features on this great blog is the weekly Sketchbook Series: every Friday, Julia posts images from the sketchbooks of some of her favorite artists. In reverse chronological order, the series has featured:
Carmen Segovia

I have never been great at keeping a sketchbook, but generally write notes to myself all over the place and then lose the notes. This has inspired me to try to put it all in one place and possibly do some drawings. My friend Kathryn has always been diligent at keeping sketchbooks, maybe I can beg her to post a few of her favorite pages. I saw many of them this summer and they were inspiring. I think you can see some on her website under artwork.

an idea

okay. since we lost half our project in the mail I have been pretty bummed out about this whole exchange business. I have actually been pretty bummed out about all of the art business. thankfully, I am getting a renewed start again. maybe the new year? anyway. I found this online and thought it was pretty interesting. I think we should think about doing something like this.
I guess they decided to work in the same colors. rather then working on each others work, maybe we could do some small drawings on the same theme, colors, concept, i don't know. just wanted to throw it out there.
how is the show preperation going? tell me all!
